OHH Membership,

 

As you may know, each year all of the officially weighed-in fish at the OHH Saltwater Fishing Tournament are donated to the Bluebonnet Youth Ranch in Yoakum, TX. The Bluebonnet Youth Ranch is licensed as a private child care facility for dependent, neglected, and abused children.

 

In 2006, Clark Clement and ECA Holdings invited eleven children from the Ranch to fish during the tournament and, again, all of the officially weighed in fish were donated to the Ranch. The kids had an awesome time. They arrived the night before the tournament and stayed in a local hotel at the expense of ECA. The next morning the bulk of the kids went out on ECA boats, while others were invited by other fishermen. The kids cleaned all the fish that were weighed in and the whole experience was a great success.

 

This year, like last year, OHH would like to offer this chance for these kids again. Because so many of you expressed an interest, we are offering you, once again, a chance to sponsor a child and participate hands-on in this rare and exceptional opportunity for these kids. The children's ages range from ten to sixteen and they are all very well mannered and well behaved. If you would like direct participation and have room on your boat, please contact Kristine Patton to make arrangements. We estimate it will cost $225 to completely sponsor a child. This includes transportation, food, lodging, a guide, boat and all the fixin's. If you would like to make a partial sponsorship donation, we request increments of $100. Please indicate your level of participation when you register.

 

We are in need of chaperones from the OHH community as this is an over-night event for the children. If you would like to be a volunteer chaperone, please contact Kristine for details.
