Oilfield Helping Hands Reaches $3 Million Milestone

Houston-based Oilfield Helping Hands (OHH) has announced that the non-profit oil and gas industry-focused organization has reached a milestone of $3 million in funds. All of OHH’s annual fundraising efforts and donations are directed to assist individuals and families in the oilfield community who are in financial crisis through no fault of their own.

OHH began as a single fundraising effort centered on a sporting event for one family in the energy industry. The success of that initial event, and the positive impact on the sponsors and the recipient family, inspired the formation of OHH. The non-profit has now grown into a dedicated team of members, volunteers and corporate sponsors all who work in the oil and gas industry. OHH was launched in Houston, and has helped families throughout the oil patch with expansion efforts and regional chapter formation in Oklahoma, Acadiana, and the Rocky Mountains. In early 2015, OHH welcomed the Permian Chapter to the roster, furthering the goal to expand wherever the energy industry and its workers have a need.

“We couldn’t do anything without the support of our sponsors, volunteers and corporate members,” said OHH President Gary Brooks. “It’s humbling to see how many people give their time, energy and funds to help manage these exciting and rewarding events. We have all been through hardship and understand that life isn’t perfect. For people and families facing unexpected bumps in the road, OHH is here to help.”

OHH currently has 28 corporate members who are dedicated and committed to help the communities in which it serves. With corporate support and fundraising efforts from 13 annual fundraising events nationwide such as clay shoots, fishing and golf tournaments, OHH has proudly helped 276 families in need.
